COMMUNITY

Caras collaborates with the communities of Vietnam, Amelia, and Sabana from Guaynabo. At the same time, we work with Juana Matos, Puente Blanco, and the town center community from Cataño.

COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION

We help establish and strengthen boards of local leaders to address community needs. We support the permanence of our communities in the face of possible unfounded evictions.

Support for Older Adults

The Food Route provides hot meals and non-perishable food to homes in Vietnam and Puente Blanco, prioritizing elderly people or those with health issues. In addition, our Compartir con Causa organizes workshops on emotional healing, art, and monthly social activities for people over 60 years old.

Community Beautification

We offer cleaning and maintenance in homes of elderly people or those with health conditions in Cataño and North Guaynabo, addressing various household chores and minor repairs.

march for peace

Since 2019, the March for Peace has been an annual event that brings together various sectors of Cataño and North Guaynabo to promote peace in our communities. We claim individual and collective peace to counteract violence in our communities and create a more just, sustainable, and peaceful society. This year, around 1,000 people attended.

volunteers with a cause

Our volunteer program involves youth and adults to increase civic participation in the work of social justice. Throughout the year, they collaborate in tutoring, community beautification, tree and garden planting, among other activities.

encounters

In collaboration with Amizade, we offer service experiences and cultural exchange in Puerto Rico for universities and American groups, generating support and community awareness. Additionally, in 2023-2024, our youth is participating in a program abroad.
